Membership

The Cranberry Community Hall Association welcomes new members. Membership costs a mere $5 per year and keeps you up to date on the many exciting events coming to the Cranberry Hall.  Every membership helps beautify the Hall, create innovative, high quality events, and keep our rental costs low so the Hall is available to a wide variety of community groups.

You can sign up for a membership at any of our Cranberry Hall Presents events, or contact a board member!

Pamela Brown, or “brownie” gets the longevity award. She was part of the Unitarian Church Board of Directors in 1972 and she transitioned Cranberry Hall to the association it is today. She stayed on, some years being the only one keeping the hall functioning. New blood finally started to arrive but “brownie” stayed until 2014. She has done it all, right down to washing floors and scrubbing toilets.

Sonia Zagwyn joined the Board in 2014 and is one of the painters who transformed the exterior and interior of the Hall with the funky colour palette. Although her time on the Board was short, she put lots of “woman” hours in the walls!

Karen Skadsheim came onto the Board in 2011 and brought a definite flavour to the Hall, including the Punk Rock Choir. She could always be counted on to bring her popcorn machine to events. She remained on the Board until 2016.

Suzan Roos matched Karen’s years on the Board (2011-2016). Suzan was part of the Punk Rock Choir and is responsible for the garden and many of the plantings taking root around the Hall.

Ann Trousdell became a member of the Hall in 2011 and a member of the Board in 2012. Ann served as secretary for some of her five years, and navigated the Hall through the changes to the Societies Act.

Scott Ritter joined the Board in 2013 and served several terms as President. Scott was responsible for bringing a variety of musical events to the Hall and initiated and ran the Hall’s Coffee Houses for four years before leaving the Board in 2018.

Pat Buckna came on the Board in 2015 and served as both Vice President and President. Pat was responsible for the very successful Cranberry Days which celebrated the 75th Anniversary of the incorporation of Cranberry. The photos on the walls are examples of the many hours Pat donated to the Hall. Pat also initiated and hosted the Sunday Song Circle. Pat left the Board in 2018.

Dee Light was a Board Member from 2015 until 2019, serving two terms as Vice President. Dee hosted countless Board meetings in her home. She was our “go to” person for distributing keys to regular renters, as well as opening and closing the Hall for events.
