BOARD OF DIRECTORS

NED KENNEDY

PRESIDENT

Michael (Ned) Kennedy is an actor, writer, musician and teacher who has spent countless hours “treading the boards” in various guises for numerous reasons. As someone who both loves to perform and coach others to do so, he brings both his professional experience and cheerful enthusiasm to Cranberry Hall. Originally from the States, he grew up a young child in England, returned to the US for the rest of his educational years, and finally fled north to saner pastures over a decade ago. He has been proud to call himself a Canadian citizen for over three years now. Ned is currently working as an English teacher at Camber College and is a Cranberry resident.

DAN VINCENT

Dan is a luthier, cabinet maker and fisherman who lives in Cranberry and is very familiar with boards. He currently heads up BC Special Olympics-Powell River and has done so for a number of years.

KAREN DIEMERT

Karen arrived in Powell River in 2020 from Smithers BC where she was active with a folk music society for 40+ years planning music festivals, coffeehouses and guitar camps. Eager to stay in a music loop Karen joined the CranHall board and is in her second year helping out with the shows and other tasks around the Hall. When not doing things for CranHall this nature nut is outside hiking and biking around the area looking at birds, wildlife and flora where ever she goes.

JIM TAYLOR

After many years of attending live music events at Cranberry Hall and meeting previous and current board members I decided to step up and volunteer as a board member at large. I am retired and live close by the hall. Carpentry and building maintenance have been my mainstays of employment over the years and I am looking forward to meeting you at the hall.

TREVOR SYTNICK

Trevor Sytnick moved to the qathet area in 2022 and immediately became entrenched in the local arts and music scenes. An experienced musician with touring, hosting, writing, and recording skills, he also brings a wealth of tech and production skills to the Cranberry Community Hall. He is active at the Carlson Loft, on the board of the Townsite Jazz Festival, tech for Kathaumixw, and just about any other local venue he can help out. Trevor is a teacher at Brooks Secondary, and shares his love for music and tech with students, and loves the educational link the music provides local students. He is becoming know as a community connector for hosting the monthly Coffee Houses and Loaded Mics.
